What audio quality (bitrate) does MOG support?
MOG utilizes high quality (320 kbps CBR) MP3 files for the audio streams by default, unlike many other sites that deliver low quality files (typically 64 kbps). When you connect to the service, it will try to determine the best quality for your connection and adjust accordingly, at the 320 kpbs default or 128 kbps for slower/busier connections.
On mobile devices utilizing the MOG app, the default quality for streaming is the industry standard 64 kbps to ensure a smooth streaming experience. Both our Android and iPhone apps have an optional setting that allows you to switch to 320 kbps streaming when connected to a WiFi network, and both iPhone and Android apps feature the option to download music to your device in 320 kbps quality.
Occasionally bandwidth issues can arise if your computer is in the middle of downloading, uploading or streaming media concurrently with MOG running. On mobile phones, spotty/unreliable coverage often causes buffering or loading issues. Verify that the problem isn't a bandwidth issue by disabling other traffic or getting to a clear coverage area.
